Foraging events
To celebrate Earth Month In April, Wonderlander @natalie_ann_evans will be interviewing Alexis Nikole Nelson on “The Art of Foraging” for @illinoislibrariespresent event “The Art of Foraging”, Thursday, April 10th, 7-8pm CST on Zoom.
“A forager, outdoor educator, chef, and influencer based in Ohio, Nelson uses her platforms to yell, sing and celebrate all the edible plants hiding in plain sight. She invites all to come on her foraging journey with her on TikTok @alexisnikole and Instagram @blackforager. Through her search for freely accessible edible plants, she peels back historical layers on African American and Indigenous food traditions that have traditionally been repressed and empowers those living in food deserts with greater self- sufficiency.”
We are super excited and proud that Natalie will be interviewing Alexis Nikole Nelson! Natalie will also be cooking up a wild dinner for our Patreon supporters on May 18th in Chicago, and she will be hosting a foraging camp at the land on May 25th.
Register here for Alexis’s talk, here for Natalie's foraging camp and here for the wild dinner!
